The Isabella County Clerk's Office maintains birth records for all births which have occurred in the county since 1867, death records from 1867 and marriage records from 1867.

Death and marriage records are open to the public and these records are in libers.

Birth records are closed according to Michigan state law; however, records over 100 years are available to the public. A Birth record that is less than 100 years old can only be obtained by an heir with proof of death.

An individual may research records on site at no charge. Hours are Monday - Friday 8am - 4:30pm. Only one genealogist is allowed to work in the office at a time due to limited space. A two hour time limit may be necessary due to various circumstances.

Certified copies of records are $10.00 for a certified copy, $3.00 for each additional certified copy purchased at the same time.

County Clerk staff will conduct a search for you at a cost of $10.00 per name for a three year search. If a record is found you will receive a certified copy. For each additional year searched beyond three, there will be a charge of $3.00 per year.
