Are You Prepared for a Disaster?

Isabella County Web Site

Good relationships with local units of government are essential to planning for and responding to disasters. This website offers information for local townships in Isabella County to help adopt resolutions that will allow the townships to take an active part in preparing for and responding to disasters.

A 3 step, recommended plan for local governments...

  1. Adopt the Michigan Emergency Management Assistance Compact in your jurisdiction

This will allow your jurisdiction to coordinate resources between agencies and jurisdictions, and to know what you will expect to pay for resources.
Click here for information about MEMAC

  2. Adopt a NIMS Resolution for your jurisdiction

This will ensure that your agencies will be eligible for future Homeland Security grants.
Click here for a sample NIMS Resolution

  3. Adopt a Hazard Mitigation Resolution (click here for a sample Hazard Mitigation Resolution)

This will ensure that your jurisdiction will be eligible for future hazard mitigation grants.

Local government boards may also want to evaluate their training for NIMS compliancy.  Click here to fill out an excel document with the dates that your jurisdictions leaders have completed ICS training, and return it to the EOC for our records. (Use the genericform.xls document and type in your jurisdictions name in the "department" field.)
