Leadership Safari
Leadership Safari is an aspiring leader program offered by the Office of
Residence Life at Central Michigan University. In existence since 1997,
Leadership Safari now boasts attendance in excess of 1400 new student
participants in this three and one half day August program. Leadership
Safari has used the CHARACTER COUNTS!SM
model as a foundation for the conference since 1999. Major speakers and
small group activities help students explore their understanding of The Six
Pillars of Character. More info can be found on the program at

Primary Focus at Beal City
In September 2007, the Isabella County CHARACTER COUNTS!
Coalition co-sponsored a full day “assembly” for Beal City elementary
students. The group called Primary Focus
performed four times for classroom groups as well as spending the day
interacting with students in the hallways, cafeteria, and classrooms.
This was one of the best assemblies ever held at the school according to the teachers and students. The character messages delivered by Primary Focus were relevant to the lives of the students. The messages were presented through skits, songs, and dialogue as well as one-on-one interaction with the students. More information can be found on the program at http://www.primaryfocus.org
