Pillar of the Month
To all who are interested in Character Development for kids, please read
the following:
The Isabella County CHARACTER COUNTS! Coalition has
decided to revive the monthly character messages. If you recall, we sent out
a monthly inspirational message that corresponded to that month’s Pillar.
May’s pillar is Trustworthiness. A person who is trustworthy is someone who
tells the truth all the time and not just when it is convenient.
Elizabeth Cady Stanton said, “Truth is the only safe ground to stand upon.”
Telling the truth gives us a firm foundation in all that we do. Those who
tell the truth all the time can be trusted in all situations. That is what
we call integrity, and don’t we all prefer to associate with people who have
integrity?
The Isabella County CHARACTER COUNTS! Coalition
hopes you will incorporate The Six Pillars of CharacterSM
into your school’s daily routine. An assortment of quotes and thoughts
related to the pillars that are celebrated and explored each month are being
provided to make it that much easier for you to incorporate these into your
regular routine. We hope you can use these in your daily PA announcements
and newsletters, and that they will be meaningful to your staff and
students. Please feel free to share them with other administrators and
teachers. Files are in (
pdf)
format.
