Being a victim of crime can be a very difficult time for most people.  Our office has a Victim Advocate on staff, which provides victims with an opportunity to discuss their concerns and to get assistance needed to see them through this difficult time in their life.

 

Services provided include:

 

*Give information and help in filing for Michigan Crime Victim Compensation.

 

*Gives help in getting emergency services such as food, a place to live, and clothing.

 

*Makes referrals to other community agencies for additional services.

 

*Gives information on how the legal process works and case status.

 

*Accompanies victims to court proceedings.

 

*Facilitates the opportunity for victims to speak at the sentencing.

 

*Assists in the return of personal property.

 

*Gives information and help in obtaining restitution.

 

*Helps the community understand about the victim's needs.
