Enjoy camping at your Isabella County Parks Coldwater Lake Family Park and Herrick Recreation Area have closed for the winter. Thanks you for a great 2011 season!

Ski Conditions: Due to lack of snow the trails at Deerfield Nature Park have not yet been groomed. We need to get a good 6 inch base to do so. Hopefully if keeps snowing, within the next few days we will be able to. In the mean time the trails and sledding are covered with snow and are open to use!

It’s not too early to begin planning your summer get-a-ways. Enjoy camping and your sandy beaches this summer at Coldwater Lake Family Park, Deerfield Nature Park, and Herrick Recreation Area. Reservations for campsites, rustic cabins, and pavilions may be made by contacting the Parks Main Office at (989) 772-0911 extension 340.

Snow Fun at Deerfield Nature Park

Come out to your Isabella County Park for an afternoon of fun. Enjoy all that Michigan winter has to offer at Isabella County’s very own Winter Wonderland…Deerfield Nature Park!

A Cross Country Ski Workshop will be offered with Pete Little instructing and guiding you through the trails. Bring your sleds to take a trip down the Deerfield Sledding Hill. Then take a break to Building a Snowman with Family and Friends!! Afterward warm up with Hot Cocoa and Treats by the Campfire!

Your Annual Vehicle Permit or the purchase of a Daily Vehicle Permit is your Ticket to SNOW FUN!!! If you are interested in participating in the workshop portion of this event please preregister with us in the Parks Main Office by Friday, February 10th at (989) 772-0911 ext. 340.

Disc Golf

Disc Golf is similar to regular golf; however, instead of using golf balls, Disc Golf players use golf discs. The object of the game is to complete each hole in the fewest number of throws, starting from a tee area and finishing at the basket. Players start at hole one and complete the course in order, playing through the last hole. The player with the lowest total cumulative score wins.

The Deerfield Nature Park Disc Golf Course offers 18 holes that will challenge Disc Golf Enthusiasts with a variety of skill levels.

Disc golf playerA daily vehicle permit is $6.00 or an annual permit may be purchase for $25.00 as a county resident or $35.00 for non-county residents. There is no extra charge to play disc golf. Visit Deerfield Nature Park today and enjoy all that your county parks have to offer.
