Construction Board of Appeals
The Isabella County Construction Board of Appeals functions under and has their powers and duties set forth by the Stille-Derossett-Hale Single State Construction Code Act (PA 230 of 1972).
The Single State Construction Code Act defines the membership, responsibilities and authority of the Construction Board of Appeals. The primary function of the Construction Board of Appeals is to grant variances as permitted under the Act.
The Construction Board of Appeals’ basic duties and responsibilities include the following:
- Conduct public hearings on requests for a variance from a specific code requirement.
- Hear and decide on appeals submitted by an interested person.
