Online Camping Reservations
Isabella County Parks is currently transitioning to a new online reservation system, which will be up and running by late February (date to be announced soon), for the 2023 camping season.
Opening Day for 2023 Camping Reservations will be online only, not in person. Reservations must be completed through the new online reservation system. Campsites and cabins at Coldwater Lake Family Park and Herrick Recreation Area will be available for online reservations for the entire 2023 camping season on Opening Day. A maximum of 5 reservations is permitted per cart.
Three important dates will soon be posted here.
1. The first date is when campers can access the new online system to create a new account and browse campsite, cabin, and pavilion availability to prepare for making a reservation on Opening Day.
2. The second date is Opening Day, when reservations can be made via the new online reservation system.
3. The third date is when phone reservations will begin. This date will be scheduled the week after Opening Day.
Because this is a new online reservation system for Isabella County Parks, you will have to create a new account to make online reservations this year. You will be able to create this account prior to Opening Day. If you typically make online reservations at any Michigan State Parks, please know that your Isabella County Parks online account and your Michigan State Parks online account will be separate, even though the systems are similar.
This website will be updated Monday through Friday at 4:00 pm with the most current information, so please keep checking back. If you would like to subscribe to our e-newsletter for the latest updates, click here. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we transition to this new system!
Information Regarding New Online Reservation System:
With the new online reservation system, some policies and procedures have changed. All changes apply to both online and phone call reservations.
Payments – Payment must be made in full at the time of making reservations.
Processing Fee – There is a $5.00 non-refundable processing fee per individual campsite, cabin or pavilion reserved. This is different than the past as it is no longer per cart checkout.
Cancellations – Cancellations can now be completed through the online reservation system or by calling the Parks Main Office. Moving forward, there is only one option for refund, which is to be refunded the way in which you paid. Refunds can no longer be issued via user credit. If you currently have a user credit on your camping account, you will not be able to apply it online on Opening Day. If reserving on Opening Day, make your reservation online, then call the Parks Main Office at a later date to receive a refund of all or a portion of your user credit.
Group Reservations – You will need the name, address, phone number and email (email optional) of at least one person (18 years or older) staying overnight on each site. The main contact person must be different for each site reserved. Payment must be made in full at time of making reservations.
Multiple Reservations – If interested in booking multiple reservations for separate time frames, you can do so in one checkout. Add separate stays to your cart and check out from there. Example: you reserve June 16-18 as well as July 14-16; both stays can be added to your cart and you can check out at one time.
Online Cart – There is a 20-minute cart time limit from the time you add a site to your cart. If you are adding multiple sites to your cart, the 20-minute time frame will restart every time you add a new site. You will receive a warning notice when you have 5 minutes remaining. If you click “Yes” on the timer running out warning, your timer will reset to 20 minutes. After 20 minutes of inactivity, sites are removed from cart and made available for others to reserve.
Holiday Reservations – If checking in on one of the dates below, you MUST stay 3 or more nights:
Memorial Day Weekend – Thursday, May 25; Friday, May 26; Saturday, May 27
Fourth of July Weekend – Thursday, June 29; Friday, June 30; Saturday, July 1
Labor Day Weekend – Thursday, August 31; Friday, Sept 1; Saturday, Sept 2
As a friendly reminder, check-in time is 3:00 pm and check-out time is 1:00 pm.
For any questions, the Parks Main Office is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Call (989) 317-4083.
