During the Medicare Part D 2019-2020 Open Enrollment, the Commission on Aging served between 400-500 people. We were very fortunate to have had a very competent group of volunteers, along with COA employees, to help meet the needs of the older adults of Isabella County. This year’s Open Enrollment will appear much different, due to the current COVID-19 pandemic.
At this time, our office is currently closed to the public, and is continuing to operate with an emphasis on remote-work for many of our employees. Returning volunteers are on-hold to safely limit the amount of people coming in and out of our COA building.
We will continue to take calls and provide information on Medicare Part D but, will be extremely limited on the amount of people we will be able to assist this year. For the safety of all, we will be planning to answer most Medicare Part D questions over-the-phone.
We strongly encourage you to contact Medicare directly at 1-800-Medicare or go to their website at: www.Medicare.gov to review your plan coverage. The dates for Open Enrollment are October 15th-December 7th.
The Commission on Aging staff has always prided ourselves on being a great resource to the community, therefore we will continue to provide assistance to the best of our abilities, over the phone, during this trying time. We thank you for your patience and understanding.
