PRESS RELEASE
For Immediate Release
November 6, 2024
Dear Voters of Isabella County,
I am writing to you following the results of the election held on November 5, 2024. I want to express my sincere appreciation for your engagement in this important decision. Your participation in the electoral process is vital to our democracy, and I respect the choice you made.
The financial realities faced by Isabella County require thoughtful deliberation, and we are committed to honoring your feedback.
The County has engaged in a comprehensive zero-based budgeting process to ensure we are being fiscally responsible while maintaining our commitment to essential services. This approach has necessitated difficult choices, including the elimination of 31 full-time and two part-time positions, including twenty road patrol deputies. We recognize the impact this has on our community, and it is not a decision made lightly.
Moving forward, we will continue to explore alternative solutions to meet the safety needs of Isabella County without compromising our financial integrity. Your voices will guide us as we seek new paths to secure the safety and well-being of our residents.
Thank you for your continued engagement and for the trust you place in your local government. Together, we will work to find solutions that align with the needs and priorities of our community.
Tobin D. Hope, Chairperson
Isabella County Board of Commissioners
