    The Veterans Affairs Committee functions under PA 192 of 1953. PA 192 consolidated the soldier’s relief commission to create a county department of Veterans Affairs.

    The Veterans Affairs Committee is responsible for the following:

    • Overseeing the county VA office to ensure that the needs of Isabella County veterans are being met.
    • Determine application eligibility for Soldier’s Relief and the County Burial Fund.
    • Ensure the County Veteran Service Fund grant program is best utilized to aid with increased efficiency of VA benefits as well as community outreach.
