The County Parks and Recreation Commission is an advisory board organized under the State of Michigan County and Regional Parks Act 261 of 1965.
The 10 member Board includes a member of the County Road Commission, the Drain Office, County Planning Commission, Board of County Commissioners, along with six (6) at large community members appointed by the Board of Commissioners. The Parks Commission is an advisory board to the BOC regarding park and recreation related matters that include planning, projects, fees and charges, park rules and ordinances, land acquisitions and other conservation issues.
