Curtis Richard Leachman, age 25, was arraigned today on Open Murder and Witness Intimidation charges, before the Honorable William R. Rush, of the Isabella County Trial Court.

Leachman is alleged to have caused the stabbing death of Tyrone Dean Stanley, age 20, during an early morning altercation, in downtown Mt. Pleasant on November 24,2012. During the arraignment, Leachman asked for, and was granted a court appointed attorney from the Isabella County Public Defenders’ Office. An initial preliminary examination has been scheduled for Leachman, on November 29, 2012, at 8:15 a.m., before Judge William R. Rush.

A charge of Open Murder carries with it a maximum penalty of life in prison. The charge of Witness Intimidation, is punishable by a maximum of up to 10 years in prison. Leachman’s bond is set at $1,000,000.00, cash or surety.
