***COVID-19 Press Release March 19, 2020***
In response to the growing concern of the COVID-19 virus our office closed to the public Monday and will remain closed to the public until April 5th, 2020. The office will still be staffed and will remain operating essential functions, including but not limited to charging all criminal acts, executing search warrants, felony and domestic violence arraignments, emergency court hearings, and we will continue to stay in contact with crime victims.
Members of the public can reach us by phone at 989-317-4085, or by email at PAO@isabellacounty.org.
I have met with leaders from the Central Michigan District Health Department, Emergency Response, and Local Police Chiefs. I can assure you that Isabella County is in good hands with our local leadership as we prepare ourselves for the impact of the Coronavirus.
The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has a new hotline, available to everyone in the state of Michigan. The hotline is open every day from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. The number is 1-888-535-6136. I encourage you to call this hotline number with questions about the Coronavirus.
I urge you all to exercise calculated concern for your fellow residents. While you may not be a member of the at-risk demographic, be considerate of others who are. Even though you may not currently feel sick, you may be an asymptomatic carrier of the virus. It is best to exercise social distancing to reduce the spread of the virus and limit your public contact only to what is necessary.
While the virus and the collateral impact it may have on our community is concerning, Isabella County residents are resilient. Now, is not a time to panic. Now, is the time to display the calming strength of our community and the resolve of the American spirit. It is an honor and pleasure to serve you all.
