Marriages

An Isabella County Trial Court Judge or Magistrate may perform marriages within the district for which he or she serves. The Isabella County Trial Court Judges and Magistrates perform ceremonies only at the Isabella County Trial Court.

Anyone who wishes to be married at the Courthouse will need to call ahead for an appointment at (989) 317-4097. Days and times available for marriage ceremonies vary according to the court’s schedule. There is a $10.00 Marriage Fee which is required at the time of making the appointment.

Due to COVID-19, the number of participants allowed to attend in-person is limited to five (5) including those being married.

What to bring to Marriage Ceremony

  • A valid Michigan Marriage License
  • Two witnesses at least 18 years of age

Where to report for the Marriage Ceremony

  • Individuals being married: Report to the Trial Court Business Office window 3 with the marriage license, envelopes, and the full names of the witnesses printed on a separate sheet of paper.
  • Family, Friends, and Witnesses: Wait in Hearing Room A’s waiting area unless otherwise instructed by the Trial Court Business Office.
