Coldwater Lake Family Park Information
Enjoy time with family and friends while staying on one of Coldwater Lake Family Park’s 98 modern campsites or in one of 5 rustic cabins. While at the park, take advantage of the all-sports lake, lounge on the sandy beach, and play a round of basketball. Coldwater offers a variety of recreation activities while creating memories.
Seasonal Access:
NOTE: Coldwater Lake Family Park opens May 1, 2026, but the park’s day-use area is still accessible. To access Coldwater’s day-use area & playground:
Turn onto Parkview Drive, a dirt road off of Littlefield Road on the west side, just north of the park. Drive to the end of Parkview and turn left, where you’ll find the park’s North Gate. Running water and bathrooms are unavailable until May, but vault toilets are available on site. A vehicle entrance permit is not required if no gate attendant is present in the off-season.
Vehicle Entrance Permits:
An Isabella County Parks Vehicle Entrance Permit is required for entry into Coldwater, Herrick, and Deerfield parks. Daily Permits are $6 per vehicle and Annual Permits (valid for the calendar year) are $25 for Isabella County residents and $35 for non-resident guests. Annual Permits are available for purchase at park gatehouses when gate attendants are present during the season [mid-May – Labor Day], and available only at Deerfield Nature Park in the off-season.

ADA Beach Chairs:
Two ADA accessible beach chairs and an accessible beach mat for those with special needs are available at the County Parks.
Beach Chair Specifics:
• An adult (age 18 and over) must checkout this equipment and must sign a waiver form
• The adult must show identification and leave ID when checking out the beach chair
• The adult is legally responsible for any minor using this equipment
• The designated adult must stay with the equipment at all times
• The user must be properly seated and strapped in the chair while in use
• A floatation device (life jacket) must be brought and used by the person using the chair
• Please be aware that two people may be needed to roll chair onto the sand
